Low-Flow Purging and Sampling (or
“Micropurge® sampling”) as a procedure for groundwater sampling has
gathered much momentum in Australia in recent years. It represents a
scientific-based approach to groundwater sampling that is used by hundreds
of groundwater professionals and is even written into guidelines by the
Victorian EPA.
Collecting a sample that is representative
of the natural formation, and not the water in the cased section, should
be the aim of every groundwater sampling program. With low-flow sampling,
samples represent formation water and naturally mobile contaminants, not
stagnant water in the well or mobilized contaminants.
EnviroEquip has been at the forefront on
supplying and renting groundwater sampling equipment since the early
1990s. Part of this has been educating people through training workshops
and seminars. Contact your local EnviroEquip office for equipment
advice on your next groundwater sampling event. EnviroEquip are your
Micropurge® experts. |
