AMS Gas Vapor Dedicated Points are now used
around the world for monitoring remediation of hydrocarbon spills, tank
and pipe leakage, landfills, and hazardous waste sites.
The unique design of the AMS dedicated stainless steel vapor point, with a
flouropolymer umbrella and optional screen to prevent soil from clogging
the vapor inlet holes, or for groundwater sampling and ensures a
representative sample time after time. flouropolymer tubing is used to
transfer the sample to the surface. The AMS Gas Vapor Probe is normally
supplied as a complete system in kit form with all the items needed to
efficiently install the dedicated points in most penetrable soils.

The patented AMS
Retract-A-Tip was designed as a survey tool for the collection of discrete
soil gas samples.
It is used with AMS GVP Extensions, sample tubing, and slide hammer
attachment, or any electric rotary hammer with a suitable adapter. The
hardened stainless steel tip is designed to open when the extensions are
pulled back a few inches. In the open position, the Retract-A-Tip will
allow the collection of a soil gas sample when a vacuum is applied to the
sample delivery tube. This may be repeated at different depths for as many
samples as needed. The complete probe may then be recovered.
The Retract-A-Tip may also be used for the collection of shallow
groundwater samples less than 7.6m from the surface. Connect a water trap
to the sample delivery tube and apply a vacuum to the other side of the
trap. Gas detection instruments, PID's, FID's with a positive displacement
sampling pump may be connected to the AMS Retract-A-Tip sample tube to
obtain a direct reading of the contaminant levels.
