_ Ideal for Landfills - Hydrocarbon Recovery Sites - Water Cleanup Projects

The most recognised automatic pump is now available in three sizes, 50 , 75 and 100 mm bores.
The QED Autopumps are pneumatically powered total fluids pumps with internal controls to allow water level drawdown control in a bore with minimal air requirements.

The AutoPump (AP) comes in two lengths, Standard, and Short Drawdown; and in Top- and Bottom-Loading models. The AutoPumps are designed to withstand aggressive well environments with high temperatures and highly corrosive fluids without the problem of material breakdown or failure. Available in Stainless Steel 316, Viton, and other special (site specific) materials, the centrepiece of these systems, the 100 mm AutoPump, can pass particles as large as 3 mm (1/8”) without problems.

Each AutoPump is controller-less and runs automatically, only turning on when there is sufficient water in the bore and not consuming any air during off cycles, saving energy costs. There are no surface timers, bubblers, or bleeders. Everything to operate the system is built into the pump itself and is therefore downwell and out of sight.

 AutoPump Features
The AP AutoPump is a submersible pump that:

  • Is air-displacement in type, requiring only a regulated compressed air source
  • Requires an operating pressure of 5 psi above static head
  • Requires no external remote control panel or satellite controllers
  • Self-adjusts discharge flow rate automatically to match well yield (up to the pump’s capacity)
  • Uses air only when discharging fluids, therefore, air usage is optimised
  • Functions under positive or negative (vacuum) pressure environments
  • Does not require clean, dry air to function properly and pumps particles up to 3 mm (1/8”) in diameter (AP4 models) without problems
  • Can operate on contaminated air
  • The air valve can pass 90 weight gear oil without fouling (AP4 models).

Light weight FRP housing makes it easier to lift out of bores
The AP4 and AP3 pumps come with a fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) outer housing as standard. This saves many kgs of weight off the pump making it light for you to lift and move it around. The FRP is chemically inert to most liquids. Stainless steel housings are also available for the very harsh chemicals as found in leachates.

Flow Rate Measurement
The AP series pulse counter is a mechanical digital counter that counts the number of cycles the AP undergoes. Since each pump has a near fixed discharge volume per cycle, then these pulse counters are easy to use to determine how much liquid each pump has pumped out. Invaluable for hydrological studies!
