The Australian made
Gouge Auger is designed to take undisturbed samples from very soft and preferably very wet
soils. How it Works
The Gouge Auger is constructed from a tapered stainless steel
half-tube which is pushed into the soil, turned to cut the core and then withdrawn
containing the "plug" of soil. It can be used on the surface or down an augured
hole but resampling is limited by the hole collapsing. The standard size is 48mm OD at the
top by whatever length suits your application.
Extensions & T-Handles
Connections for T-handles or Extension Rods are by either of standard threads (fine or
coarse), or a notched coupling with a captive sleeve or a hex fitting with a pin. Select
from aluminium, painted steel or stainless steel extensions and T-handles.
