T-Handles & Capstan
T-Handles
used for manual turning of the augers. Available in short or long, thread
or coupling to suit the auger thread.
Capstan is used with Tommy Bars, in
restricted turning places or for more leverage.
Tommy Bars
To undo the threaded joints and to
hold the "drill string" to prevent it from falling down the hole. Also used to
remove the sample from the auger or for turning the capstan.
Options: Fine (LD) or Coarse (HD)
Extension
Rods
EXT-S Steel tube
and threads for strength and rigidity.
EXT-A Aluminium tube with stainless steel threads
(fine) or aluminium threads (coarse) for light weight and corrosion resistance. Both are
available in 1.0 or 1.5 metre lengths and with either "fine" or
"coarse" thread. or notched coupling with sleeve or hex with pin. Optional
lengths, connection, steel or aluminium or stainless steel).
Adapters
Used for adapting (changing) from
one thread type to another. 2 standard types of thread: "fine" (5/8 inch or
approx. 16mm Whitworth); and "coarse" 1&1/8 inch or approx. 28mm Acme).
Also available is a 3/4" inch or 20mm NB pipe threads for some customers. The
adaptors are available in any combination.
Star
Drills & Chisels
Used for breaking up hard layers or stones. Best used with
Stone Catcher (chopper) and Slide Hammer. Only available with coarse thread.
Slide Hammer
Used to aid Star Drill, Chisel or
Stone Catcher to pick up stones. Comes with special T-Handle. Best used with Star Drill
and Stone Catcher. Only available with Coarse Thread.
Carry
Bag & Case
Made from canvas with reinforced
ends, leather belts and a steel handle (2 on 1.5 metre bags). Used to carry or store the
equipment in and has ample room for a complete set (kit) of equipment and some extra gear.
